Mochdre are keen to discover whether Saturday’s 11-0 triumph was a club record victory.
It was a pretty clinical display from Sports against a young Glan Conwy outfit.
Highlights of the day were stand-in striker Gareth Jones scoring four, super-sub defender Charlie Lloyd netting three and Jack Jeffers with his first goal in 10 years, rounding off a dominant display for the home side.
Bobby Tudor and Fin Jones added singles and there was also an own goal.
Sports fought back from a goal down to beat an outstanding Llandyrnog side at The Meadows.
Had the visitors not missed a penalty at 1-0 up, it could have been a different story.
Ross Gilbert gave United a 12th minute lead before the visitors earned a penalty on 32, but David Lawson-Cooke dragged his kick wide.
Very shortly afterwards, Lee Beattie levelled the game.
The second half was a slog for the home side against very strong opposition. The winner came from a scrappy goal on 57 minutes when Sam Brewerton converted from close range.
Sports managed to see the game out for another huge three points
After the win, Sports management John Hargreaves and Sion Williams said: “We had a very special visitor to the game today, our friend Ste Ashe who’s been going through a tough time with his chemotherapy made it down to watch from the bench which I’m sure gave the lads that extra motivation if it were needed. It was great to see you mate, everyone at the club is behind you and we all love you ❤️
“That brings us on to another big shout out to Llandyrnog today who came down with a very generous £100 donation to Ste’s fundraiser. Also some lovely words from the opposition management to the lads in the changing room at full time.
“Lovely gesture from an always classy club, much appreciated by all.”
After 10 matches without a win, a sequence which began with a 2-1 defeat at Blaenau in August, Cerrig got it right on Saturday with a revenge result against the Quarrymen.
Jac Edwards (2), Cai Aykroyd and Ynyr Roberts shared the home goals, Oliver Dukes-Morgan with a consolation for the visitors.
A six-goal thriller at the Flyover had just about everything.
Curtis Cooper gave the Railwaymen a 23rd minute lead, which they held up to half time.
The goals began to flow midway through the second half.
Francesco Gallina levelled on 67 minutes, substitute Mathew Jones made it 2-1 Junction after 72, Ricky Jones equalised against his former club on 74, then Jamie Jones missed a penalty for the visitors.
Lee Ellis was red-carded for Pen, then a minute later Mathew Jones put the hosts 3-2 ahead.
Five minutes into added time, Jamie Jones atoned for his spot-kick failure by notching a Phoenix equaliser.
And there was still time for Stevie Jones to be dismissed for the away side, leaving them with nine men at the end.
Robin Hughes (2) and Luke Appleby came up with the first-half goals that secured all three points for Llannefydd at The Rec.
Luke Holmans handed Llansannan a third-minute lead which they clung onto up to the interval.
Scott Stewart made it one-apiece eight minutes into the second half, and the yellow cards flowed before Steffan Tomos put the home side 2-1 in front on 80.
The game was in its 90th minute when Stewart plundered an away equaliser.
Six-goal Rhuddlan remain a point behind leaders St Asaph after completing a fourth win in a row.
John ‘Barney’ Barnes’ side got off to a flyer with Andrew Merner, making his full debut, scoring inside the first minute after good play from Mathew Beach.
Beach was taken down inside the box to win Rhuddlan a penalty which Ben Jacobson fired wide on the half-hour mark.
A poor first half from Rhuddlan with Bro Cernyw probably playing the better football at times.
Town were much improved after the break and three minutes in Jordan Bellham teed-up Merner for his second.
Keeper Andrew Symonds pulled off a cracking save before soon after Luca Bennett assisted Merner to his hat-trick.
The goal of the game came from Cernyw’s Luke Brownson, who hit a loose ball from distance over Symonds to make it 3-1 on 74 minutes.
Bringing on Isaac Hall, Harvey Bennett and Elliot Turner gave Rhuddlan more momentum in the closing stages.
Bennett played a fantastic ball to Bellham, who finished off superbly to make it 4-1. Jack Cheetham and debutant birthday boy Nathan Kershaw then came on and kept Town on the front foot.
Derek McShane’s corner was finished off by Jacobson for 5-1 before Cheetham took a shot that found Turner, who smashed home number six.
St Asaph’s Ryan Potts scored the winning goal on 11 minutes, but was red-carded after 83 in Saturday’s close fought battle at Roe Plas.
The leaders remain undefeated in the Premier after 10 games, but they were given a great tussle by ever-improving Kinmel Bay.
