NORTH WALES COAST EAST LEAGUE – REPORTS NOVEMBER 5

DIVISION ONE

Bow 3 Llandudno Amateurs 2

What was surely one of the best goals seen at Bastion Gardens in many a year from Bow midfielder Barry Roche graced a classic encounter which the hosts narrowly won.

The heavens opened for the entire first half, but that did not stop the home team playing some great football.

Loui Ocarroll, Kelvin Berks, Danny Brown and Tom Weir were linking up and causing mayhem from the word go.

In the 14th minute that man Weir took the ball past a defender and smashed home the opening goal.

Three minutes later Weir was brought down about 25 yards out and a free kick was awarded.

Up stepped Roche to score with an unstoppable rocket into the top corner. The goal was caught on camera and has been proving popular on social media.

It stayed 2-0 up to the break and the second half was a different game as the Amateurs started to show why they are rated one of the division’s best.

The visitors pressed for a goal and got it on the hour through Chris Smyth.

Amateurs kept up the pressure but Bow’s back-four were solid with keeper Richard Hillier-Evans producing some fantastic saves.

The home side were reduced to 10 men on 76 minutes when substitute Kyle Lally was sent off.

The next goal would prove vital and it was the hosts who scored it via a Loui ocarroll free-kick he curled into the corner of the net.

Llandudno refused to lie down and Azz Rogers pulled it back to 3-2 with just minutes left.

However, Bow saw the game out with great defending, Arron Querci their man of the match.

CPD Caer Clwyd 4 Llysfaen 1

A good footballing display from Clwyd saw them establish a strong grip on the match by taking a 3-0 lead inside 20 minutes.

It was their first home game in over six weeks and they used the pitch nicely, producing some quality goals.

Elis Davies, Morus Owen, Tomos Roberts and Shaun Edwards delivered the net-finders which secured a third straight league success for the hosts.

A Daniel Batey penalty was Llysfaen’s sole response.

CPD Henllan 4 NFA 9

Niall McGuinness (3), Matty Robinson (2), David McHugh (2), Ste Falvey and Tom Kemp shared the goals in an away-day rout for NFA.

Josh Griffiths put Henllan ahead on nine minutes, but by the interval the Rhyl visitors were 5-1 up.

Alex Thomas, Dominic Griffin-Chamberlain and Ashley Andrews added what amounted to consolation goals for the hosts in the second period.

Rhos United 5 Penrhyn Bay 1

Lewis Sealey was a hat-trick hero for Rhos in an emphatic beating of Penrhyn Bay at Brookfield Drive.

Bret Durkan and Alec Jones also struck for the home side, with man of the match Sealey adding an assist to his goals treble.

Stan Farrell scored the first goal of the match for Bay.

CPD Y Glannau 2 Rhyl Dragons 2

Aaron Dodwell’s stoppage time leveller earned a Glannau side which was not at its best a point and preserved their unbeaten league record.

Dragons started very well, but were indebted to their keeper Martin King for a great save to keep out Harrison Bellis’ well-struck volley.

The visitors took the lead after 25 minutes. A cross from the left was headed against the bar by Dragons captain Dale Lewis and the ball fell for Colin Sargerson to nod into an empty net.

Y Glannau tried to rally. Bellis had a header saved and Joey Fontana and Tawse Cox both saw efforts from the edge of the box tipped around the post by King.

Dragons doubled their lead five minutes before half time when Nathan Griffiths finished off a lovely move.

Right on half time, Y Glannau got the lift they needed to pull a goal back. Chris McQuillen played in a corner and Josh MacGillivray headed home.

The home team began the second period impressively. Fontana fed a lovely ball into McQuillen and his teasing delivery just needed a touch but it was not to be.

Captain fantastic Fontana was winning every header and tackle and really trying to push on for his team-mates for the equaliser.

However, Dragons keeper King was in fine form – as was their defence.

Bellis looked set to score but was denied by a magnificent Lewis tackle.

MacGillivray put in a very dangerous corner and the ball looked like it crossed the line. King appeared to scoop the ball from behind the line but the referee wasn’t sure so couldn’t give a goal.

Dragons missed a great chance to clinch it in the 89th minute and paid the price when deep into added time Y Glannau equalised.

MacGillivray’s long throw was flicked on by a Dragons defender and the ball fell to Dodwell at the back post to chest home.
