DIVISION ONE
Holyhead Town 2 Llangoed & District 2
Laurence Mandel arrived at the party with his first two goals for Llangoed in a hard-fought draw at Millbank.
Student Mandel, 19, was actually a driving force behind his club’s new nickname of The Puffins and the midfielder earned his wings with Saturday’s double.
Having lost 4-1 in Holyhead at CPD Caergybi two weeks earlier, The Puffins returned to Holy Island confident of a better result.
The visitors flew out the blocks and immediately put Holyhead under pressure, Joe Doohan firing just past the post.
It was very much a back and forth first half with Holyhead probably having the better openings, but it was Llangoed who took the lead on 40 minutes when Mandel smashed in a cut back by Doohan after a fast break.
However, the lead was short-lived as The Harbourmen instantly replied from kick off through Rob Thomas to make it 1-1 at half time.
The wind picked up for the second half with Llangoed fighting against it, however The Puffins once again started the better with some great passages of play.
Substitute Llion Roberts supplied the final pass as his cross found Mandel, whose cultured volley made it 2-1 to the visitors on 65 minutes.
It seemed like Llangoed were to take all three points until the 88th minute when Holyhead managed to bundle the ball over the line via Sion Thomas following a corner.
The final action saw Holyhead find the net but were denied a winner by the referee after a perceived foul on goalkeeper Aidan Lee.
Arriva 5 CPD Mountain Rangers 1
Rhys Jones gave Rangers a 21st minute lead at Nantporth, but Luke Snape soon levelled for Arriva and it remained 1-1 up to half time.
After the break the Busmen took over, Robin Roberts scoring twice, Snape completing his double and Jude Moukoko was also on target.
CPD Cefni 1 Llanystumdwy 3
Aaron Wyn Jones, Tomos Williams and Daniel Rhinds shared the goals to deliver three points for Llanystumdwy.
Liam Williams replied for the home team 10 minutes from time with the score at 0-3.
PREMIER DIVISION
Amlwch Town 1 Llannerchymedd 1
All-square at Lon Bach with two very experienced campaigners on the mark.
Chris Byast broke the deadlock on 14 minutes for Amlwch and it stayed 1-0 until Gavin Sharpe equalised for Medd after 76.
Gwalchmai 2 Glantraeth 0
Gwalchmai lie third in the table after goals from Chris Bennett on 61 minutes and Connor Owen after 82 banked them maximum points.
It was a 17th goal of the season for the highly-rated 17-year-old Owen.
CPD Pentraeth 0 CPD Pwllheli 4
Martyn Smith, Dafydd Roberts, Lukas Baltovic and Jason Banks pocketed a goal apiece as fourth-place Pwllheli romped to a comfortable success at Bryniau Field.
