Triplets’ goal scoring feat brought back some fond memories

North Wales football’s terrific triplets – Charlotte, Emily and Lucy Morris – recently all scored in the same game for Denbigh Town in a 6-1 win.

It was the first time the trio had achieved that feat since playing together for Kinmel Bay Under-14’s back in the early 2000’s,

Defender Emily contacted us with the press clipping from that game.

Also among the scorers that day was Jordan McNally, a Scot who lived in Llandyrnog, near Denbigh at the time, with parents David (Pim) and Janet, along with brother Jimmy.

Pim and Janet returned to Scotland, as did Jordan, but Jimmy remained in the Vale of Clwyd and now manages Llandyrnog United.

Jordan played under Bill Darwin’s guidance at Kinmel Bay, but moved back to Scotland before returning to North Wales to live with her brother. During her second stay, she represented Denbigh Town under John Clayton and Sharon Clayton’s management.

She has returned to Scotland since and now plays for Annan Athletic as well as being a talented darts player who has just qualified for the World Masters.

Charlotte, Emily and Lucy, 31, who live in Prestatyn, were part of the Denbigh Town side which won the North Wales League title in 2014-15.

They have continued to play on and off over the years, but this season is the first for a while where all three regularly feature in the same team.

Lucy is a forward or winger, Charlotte forward or right back and Emily left back.

Charlotte is the eldest, while Emily arrived second and Lucy third. The latter two are considered identical.

They are the daughters of former Rhuddlan Town, St Asaph City, Pilkingtons and Prestatyn Town player Dale Morris.
