RHYL AND DISTRICT SUNDAY LEAGUE REPORTS – MATCHDAY 4

Prestatyn Wanderers 4 Rhyl Celtics 3

A seven-goal thriller saw Wanderers not at their best but still manage to secure a first win of the season.

Celtics led twice, but eventually the hosts managed to establish a 4-2 lead before the visitors bagged a late reply.

Will Smith, Jacob Jones, Adam Wright on his debut with a 30 yard strike and Harrison Bellis provided the Wanderers goals.

Richard Hill (2) and Elliot Price replied for the Celtics in a good contest from which both sides could take positives.

Wanderers MOTM voted by Celtics was Tawse Cox. Celtics MOTM chosen by Wanderers was Elliot Price.

Mark Dudley’s Oak side continued their fine start to the season by hitting double figures against a weakened Rangers.

While well beaten, Rangers certainly never gave up and were commended by the opposition for their effort.

Goals for the Oak were shared by Adam Cassidy (2), Callum Murphy (2), Nick Sanders, Ethan Taylor, Tom Jones, Charlie Thorley, Josh Brown and there was an own goal.

Y Clwb 2 FC Mally 4

Adam Hold bagged a hat-trick for the champions who were given a great battle by Glan Conwy side Y Clwb.

Morgan Roberts was also on the mark for the visitors.

Maxie Williams scored both for Y Clwb and on another day he could have had four or five, but it was not to be.

NWCFA SUNDAY CHALLENGE CUP

Holders FC Mally will face Royal Oak, while Y Clwb have been drawn to take on Rhyl Rangers in the Challenge Cup semis.
