NORTHOP HALL 2 (Massey, Williams)

DENBIGH TOWN 4 (Gunes, Hafal, Evans pen, L Morris)

A fourth win in five league games put Denbigh top of the North Wales Women’s Football League.

Town maintained their 100 percent away record with a third successive victory on their travels.

Northop Hall, meanwhile, are still seeking their first three points of the campaign.

Yet the hosts started brightly and after 10 minutes got their reward with a long range finish by Sarah Massey.

The visitors grew into the game and after 30 minutes, following good build up play, Elen James Owen played a nice pass into the path of Esra Gunes, who drove past a couple of players before firing the ball into the top corner of the net for her fourth goal in two games.

Denbigh started the second half on the front foot and on 58 minutes Llio Hafal put them ahead with a free kick from 35 yards out.

The Vale of Clwyd side then grew in confidence and were linking up well. On 70 minutes Amber Hellon found Lucy Morris on the edge of the box to score Denbigh’s third goal.

This was not the end of the scoring, as when Hellon was adjudged to have been fouled in the box, Eluned Evans made no mistake from the penalty spot.

With 10 minutes remaining and following a few changes from both sides, Northop created some chances to get back into the game, and in the 90th minute Gemma Williams scored to make it 4-2.
