Caernarfon Town 4 (O’Rourke 4, R Hughes 11, 31 pen, Marsh-Hughes 74)
Two goals inside the first 11 minutes set up Caernarfon for a comfortable Welsh Cup success at the Essity Stadium.
The Cymru Premier visitors took a fourth-minute lead when Fidel O’Rourke, on loan from Liverpool, beat home keeper Jamie King in a race to the ball, nicked it past him and found the net.
King clattered O’Rourke in attempting to clear the danger and was fortunate to escape with just a yellow card. O’Rourke was also lucky to avoid a serious injury from the power of the impact.
In the 11th minute it was 2-0, Rob Hughes hitting a low drive from outside the area which squirmed into the net under the body of keeper King.
Tom Marsh-Hughes struck the post from close range following an exquisite pass via Alec Mudimu before the Cofis went three-up on 31 minutes.
Jack Delgado clipped Marsh-Hughes just inside the area and Rob Hughes converted the penalty with ease.
Mountain, from Tier 3 Ardal North West, could have pulled one back when Ben Brierly made space for himself, but dragged his shot wide.
The scoring was completed in the 74th minute when Marsh-Hughes notched his first goal for the Canaries after a free kick from the right was nodded into his path.
