Steph Farley is back at CPD Y Rhyl 1879 – and it’s welcome to Leanne Williams!
Defender Steph Farley is back at CPD Y Rhyl 1879 after a short return to Denbigh Town.
Last season Steph was a key part of a Rhyl defence which conceded a miserly 13 goals in 18 games in winning the North Wales Women’s League as invincibles.
She switched back to former club Denbigh over the summer and scored in both their opening NWWFL matches of the 2022-23 season, but a rethink led her to decide she wanted a tougher challenge in tier 2, where Rhyl 1879 now play in the Adran North.
Steph said: “It was nice returning to Denbigh, and I hope they have a great season, but I still felt the need to seek a challenge and I think I can find that challenge in tier 2.”
Since the move back to Belle Vue was announced on social media there has been a very enthusiastic response from the Rhyl squad.
Another recent recruit for 1879 is Leanne Williams, who was with Anglesey side Trearddur Bay last season.
Bodelwyddan-born Leanne, 25, generally played up front for Trearddur but is adaptable to most positions.
