Exciting new signing for CPD Y Rhyl 1879 as Chelsea Evans joins the tier 2 side

Midfielder Chelsea Evans is excited at the prospect of playing for her new team CPD Y Rhyl 1879.
The 23-year-old has joined the Genero Adran North club after a long association with Northop Hall.
A right-midfielder who can also operate on the left, Chelsea represented Mostyn Dragons and Blacon Youth Girls before committing to Hall.
She was a member of the celebrated 2017-18 Hall squad which won the North Wales Women’s League title and NEWFA Cup double, playing alongside club greats like Laura Pennington and Laura Eagles.
After that unforgettable campaign, Northop Hall were forced to rebuild after the summer of 2018 brought a change of manager and numerous player departures.
Times have been tough since for the club, but Chelsea remained part of things until this week’s switch to Rhyl.
Chelsea said: “I’m very excited to be at Rhyl after a few months break due to personal reasons. I’m looking forward to playing again and seeing what the future brings at Rhyl as I know this is a great team.”
The new signing’s main strength is picking out a pass and crossing, and she pops up with an occasional goal.
Chelsea’s grandfather Robin was a founder of CPD Glantraeth on Anglesey in 1984, dad Paul represented numerous Ynys Môn clubs in his career and is now joint-manager at reigning North East Wales League Premier Division champions Greenfield, while brother Ethan is a very promising player.
Rhyl have certainly signed a good one in Chelsea Evans.
