Ardal North East – Albion crash to first defeat, Rhos still top despite home disappointment

An eight-goal thriller saw second-half substitute Joe Evans emerge the hero with a hat-trick as Llanuwchllyn claimed victory to rise above Builth into sixth spot in Ardal North East.

Oliver Woods gave the visitors a sixth-minute lead, but Joe Williams levelled on 18 and it remained one-apiece up to half time.

Wells struck first again in the second half, Aeron Powell netting on 53, sub Joe Evans soon made it 2-2, but Tommy Rowlands put the away side in front for a third time after 62 minutes.

It was here that Llanuwchllyn took the game by the scruff of the neck, Sam Evans restoring parity after 76 before Joe Evans gave the hosts the lead two minutes later.

Joe Evans made it a treble on 83 minutes and the scoring was over.

Llandrindod Wells 2 Cefn Albion 1

Daniel Hall’s 86th minute winner sent Albion toppling to their first league defeat of the campaign.

Jack Evans handed Llandrindod a 13th minute lead, but Jordan Johnson made it 1-1 midway through the second half.

Llangollen Town 0 Llanfair United 3

Five wins out of five for second-place Llanfair, a Jacque Coates own goal, Grant Butler second and Nyasha Mwamuka 90th minute strike clinching the spoils.

Llanrhaeadr YM 0 Caersws 6

Luke Evans (pen), two goals apiece from Glynn Coney and Norton Collins, plus a Scott Williams single delivered a big away win for Caersws, who were down to 10 men after 14 minutes when Calum Bennett was shown red.

Jack Tyrrel also received his marching orders for the hosts on 70 minutes.

Rhayader Town 0 Penycae 1

Daniel Holland’s 45th minute penalty sealed the points for Penycae at Y Weirglodd.

Rhayader had James Thomson sent off on 52 minutes.

Rhos Aelwyd 1 Dolgellau Athletic 1

Still top of the standings, Rhos will nonetheless be disappointed to have dropped two home points.

Jonathan Harisson put the visitors in the lead on 23 minutes, James Rumsey levelling after 68.

Welshpool Town 2 Bow Street 1

Two Richard Litchfield goals were enough to bank a win for Welshpool at the expense of a Bow Street outfit which came tumbling down to earth after their Welsh Cup victory over Bangor 1876 the previous week.

Sion Ewart nabbed a consolation for the visitors.
