Gr-eight show from Nomads sees Kural make it back-to-back hat-tricks

Nomads came back from a goal down to defeat Airbus UK 8-1 in the first round of fixtures in the Genero Adran Trophy.

Tegan Hewitt’s opener for the home side was cancelled out by a quickfire brace from Shannon Hobbs.

Jennifer Haynes and Kirstie Kural both scored to give Nomads a 4-1 lead at half time.

The second half then saw Kural make it back-to-back hat-tricks with Kylie Jones and Emily Bentley also scoring their first goals of the season.

Airbus took the lead in the first minute when a long ball bounced all the way through to captain Hewitt who finished beyond Meg Robinson and into the roof of the net.

Nomads were not behind for long as Kural found Hobbs on the left and she sent a superb first-time shot into the bottom corner.

Just seconds later, Hobbs had her brace. Kural capitalised on an Airbus defensive error deep in their own half and Hobbs blasted another unstoppable shot past Ruby Stevens to put Nomads ahead.

Haynes then made it two goals from two games. Kural’s pass across the face of goal saw Haynes slide in to slot into an empty net.

Kural scored Nomads’ fourth when she took on an Amber Bailey pass and curled an inch-perfect strike into the far corner.

Half-time: 1-4

Early in the second half, Kural fed Kylie Jones on the edge of the area and she sent a looping effort beyond Stevens.

Manager Jordan Parry then made a double substitution as Bentley and Tamara Hamer came on for goalscorers Haynes and Hobbs.

Cat King was brought on for Aimee Hopkinson and the new arrival was instantly among the action with some fine defending to stop Natalie Harrison getting her shot away.

Substitute Hamer almost found herself on the scoresheet but her near post effort was brilliantly kept out by Stevens.

Then a sublime Nomads move saw Hamer race down the left before squaring to Kural, who guided the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 6-1.

Soon after Kural produced another fantastic finish to make it back to back hat-tricks. Hamer’s ball over the top enabled Kural to round Stevens and find the empty net.

Hamer turned provider once again, finding Bentley to score a stunning eighth Nomads goal.
