History will be in the air when Flint Mountain play first-ever game at new home

NEWFA SENIOR CHALLENGE CUP ROUND THREE PREVIEW

Flint Mountain v Ruthin Town
Essity Stadium, Wednesday, September 14, 7.45 pm

History will be in the air on Wednesday night when Flint Mountain play for the first time at their new home.

And quite an occasion it promises to be, with the tier 3 Ardal North West hosts taking on NEWFA Challenge Cup holders Ruthin Town of the second-tier Cymru North at the Essity Stadium.

The match kicks off at 7.45 pm with a place in the last eight at stake.

Flint Mountain were promoted from the tier 4 North East Wales Football League last season and have strengthened greatly over the summer, with the experienced Aden Shannon at the helm.

In the last round of the NEWFA Cup, Mountain triumphed 6-3 at Coedpoeth United, while Ruthin saw off New Brighton Villa 2-0.

Mountain share the Essity Stadium with Cymru Premier landlords Flint Town United.

With Wednesday’s tie being the evening’s only major senior game across North Wales, it is hoped a large crowd will attend on what will be a particularly special event for the progressive Flint Mountain.
