North Wales Women’s League results/mini-reports
Sunday, September 4

Llanfairfechan Town 0 Denbigh Town 1

Steph Farley marked her return to Denbigh with the second-half winning goal at Llanfairfechan.

Last season, Steph was part of the rock-solid CPD Y Rhyl 1879 defence which proved the cornerstone of the team winning the North Wales League title without losing a single game.

She rejoined Denbigh in the summer and made an instant mark for Ellen Lawson’s side today.

On 65 minutes, the ball came to Lois Roberts from a corner and she found defender Farley, whose shot on the turn went in off the crossbar.

Otherwise, it was a good league debut from Llanfairfechan, who kept it close throughout, while Denbigh’s first game in tier 3 ended on a high.

Llangefni Town 2 CPDM Bangor 1876 3

Close battle at Cae Bob Parry where an 1876 side expected to do well this season were given a great battle by hosts Llangefni.

Goals from Chelsea Williams and Ffion Bee gave the visitors a 2-0 half-time lead, but Cefni were back in it when Sian-Elin Morgan-Price set up Ellie Coulson to halve the deficit on 53 minutes.

Danielle Barnfield made it 3-1 from the penalty spot, but Town kept pushing and Coulson notched her second before the end.

Llanystumdwy 2 CPD Pwllheli 6

Stacey Sansome and Lois Thomas netted two apiece as Pwllheli kicked off life back in tier 3 with a big win.

Mari Owen and Charley Davies added one each for the visitors, whose player of the match was Magi Hughes.

Hana Wellings scored both for Llanystumdwy, the second an absolute gem as she turned two defenders on the right side of the box and beat two more before calmly slotting past the keeper.

NFA 11 Caernarfon Town 0

Player of the match Zoe Stopford scored twice on debut

Double-figures for NFA on what proved a difficult return to senior football for Caernarfon.

Goals: Emily Jones (3), Stella Windsor (2), Zoe Stopford (2), Sade Benjamin (2), Amy Webster, Molly Brown.

New signing Stopford was player of the match while another fresh recruit, Caitlin Hadaway who joins from Holywell, also impressed on her NFA debut, providing two assists.
