Divisions Three and Four – table leaders Brymbo seconds and Corwen win big

NORTH WALES LEAGUE DIVISION THREE

Brymbo 2nd XI (15) 224-4 Buckley 2nd XI (0) 74-10

Skipper George Bourne (85) and wicket-keeper Henry Lunn (76) led the run-fest as Brymbo seconds strengthened their position at the summit.

Opener Gareth Pugh added 33 as the Steelmen set 224-4 off 40 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat, Matthew Edge 2-34 for Bucks.

The visitors were then all removed for just 74, opener Jack Gibson 27, Ioam Craven-Jones 3-16 and Ross Roberts 2-2 for the hosts.

Connah’s Quay 2nd XI (15) 220-6 Abergele 2nd XI (0) 66-10

Rhys Ryder (77) and skipper Andy Tilley (65) guided the Quay to a match-winning score at home to Abergele seconds.

Jitto Emmanuel took 2-41 and Berwyn Thomas 2-58 as the home side chalked up 220-6 off 35 overs.

Gele were blasted out for just 66, Emmanuel 22, Matthew Dix 3-12, Jack Griffiths 3-20, Chris Boden 2-4 and Dale Jones 2-20.

Denbigh 2nd XI (2) 147-6 Bethesda 2nd XI (13) 151-4

Craig Jeffreys pocketed 4-40 and Jamie Savage 2-32 as Denbigh seconds were limited to 147-6 off 40 overs, openers Chris Brown and Simon Williams 47 and 35 respectively.

Savage ended 46 not out as Pesda made it to a winning 151-4 in 32.1, captain Byron Jones 25 and Williams 2-25 for the beaten hosts.

Seven-player Halkyn seconds were no match for the leaders.

Put into bat, the hosts were all out for just 34, Gareth Thomas 21, Harry Pooler 3-13 and Nathan Aldridge 2-17.

Corwen then eased 36-0 in 3.2 to win a match which took less than 14 overs in total to complete.

Llandudno 2nd XI (4) 148-9 Marchwiel and Wrexham 2nd XI (11) 152-8

Jeremy Wilks’ crucial 55 not out did most to ensure Marchwiel and Wrexham scraped home by two wickets at The Oval.

Llandudno were inserted by the visitors and posted 148-9 off 40, Alex Owen by far and away the best contributor with 79, Chris Pritchard taking 2-1, Zahid Sharif 2-24 and Mike Lee 2-27 for the away side.

Marchwiel and Wrexham made it to 152-8 in 38 overs, extras playing a big part with 32 runs, Mike Gwynne collecting 3-26 and Andrew Christian 3-29 for the hosts.
