Congratulations Brymbo seconds – 2023 North Wales Cricket League Division Two champions by the proverbial country mile.

The unbeaten Steelmen have an uncatchable 57-point lead at the summit following Saturday’s whipping of Pontblyddyn seconds at the SSC.

Pont were put into bat and limited to 140-9 off a reduced 30 overs, Ethan Roberts posting 34 and Dave Evans 31.

Terry Jones claimed 3-43 for the hosts, Ross Roberts 2-25 and Gareth Pugh 2-29.

In response, Brymbo reached 144-1 in 26.3 overs, Joss Roberts 70 not out, Craig Morse 38, that pair putting on 75 for the first wicket.

Bersham (14) 152-2 Gresford 2nd XI (1) 146-3

Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka finished 90 not out as Bersham romped to an eight-wicket triumph over Gresford seconds.

Invited to bat, ever-consistent skipper George Morris made 77 not out as the visitors posted 146-3 off 30 overs, Iwan Lloyd 3-30 for the home team.

Nissanka then led the charge as Bersham made it to 152-2 in 27.3, Iwan Lloyd also ending unbeaten on 36.

Points: 14-1 to Bersham
