Division Two – Nicholas Parry makes career best for Bethesda, seven wickets for Northop’s Darren Williams

NORTH WALES LEAGUE DIVISION TWO

Bethesda (14) 253-5 Mochdre 2nd XI (1) 161-8

Long-serving Nicholas Parry made a career best 132 as Bethesda maintained their 100 percent record at the expense of Mochdre seconds.

Wicket-keeper Parry also passed 6,000 club runs for Pesda, where he has spent his entire senior career apart from two years at Bangor.

The hosts were put into bat at Parc Villa and made the most of it by amassing 253-5 off 40 overs.

After initially slipping to 2-2, Nicholas Parry and Richie Parry (44) put on 167 for the third wicket.

Skipper Jonathan Williams (52 not out) added further vital runs for the hosts.

Nicholas Parry’s 132 came off just 89 balls and included 19 fours and four sixes.

Jon Davies picked up 3-49 for Mochdre seconds, who in reply were limited to 161-8, Harri Mostyn Jones 35, Butlin Andrew 34 no, while for the home side Richard Lee Williams scooped 3-29, Craig Newey 2-26 and Dylan Hughes 2-30.

Carmel and District (14) 160-4 Gresford 2nd XI (1) 70-10

Half-centuries from Daniel Sim and Ieuan Jones put Carmel into a winning position against Gresford seconds at Pen-y-Gelli.

Sim made 59 and Jones 50 before Matthew Isgar added 23 as the home side set 160-4 after being asked to bat.

Gresford were then dismissed for 70 in the face of a highly effective and economical Carmel attack.

Danny Owens took 3-12 off six, Derek Johnson 2-9, Ieuan Jones completed a fine personal performance with 2-12 off six and Lee Rowles bagged 2-22.

Clwb Criced Caernarfon (1) 47-10 Mold 2nd XI (14) 48-3

Opening bowlers Gareth Davies and Chris Boulton took 4-16 and 4-19 respectively as Mold seconds sent Caernarfon’s batting packing for a paltry 47.

The visitors reached 48-3 in 11.2 overs to seal a 14-1 success, Craig Roberts making 23 and Llyr Erddyn Davies grabbing 3-9 for the hosts.

Hawarden Park 2nd XI (14) 176-6 St Asaph 2nd XI (1) 76-10

Opener Owen Skillander made 105 not out in Hawarden’s thumping home victory over St Asaph.

The hosts set 176-6 off 40 overs, Elliot Goddard 3-45 for Saints, who were then dismissed for just 76 to at least secure a point, captain Haseeb Hanif Bikya 3-22 for the Park, Imran Khattak 2-2, Tom Wilson 2-10 and Evan Shaw 2-16.

Northop 2nd XI (12) 159-10 Bersham (3) 131-10

Darren Williams claimed a stunning 7-24 to halt Bersham’s victory charge at Flint Road.

Northop seconds batted first and were all out for 159 in 38.1 overs, Scott Oates 35 and Kevin Owen 23 not out, Varuna Kahakachi grabbing 4-37, Maneesha Ayomal Nissanka 3-28 and Rathnayaka Mudiyanselage Shanka 2-28 for the visitors.

In reply, Suresh Lakmal Koswaththage made 81 not out for Bersham, but the away batting could not handle Williams, whose seven-wicket haul did most to ensure the away side finished 131 all out.

Ruthin (1) 101-10 Menai Bridge 2nd XI (14) 102-2

An eighth straight win for Menai Bridge seconds kept them in the runner-up spot and well on course for promotion.

Liam Bibby took 4-38, Mathew Jones 2-12 and Liam Stone 2-23 as Menai bowled out hosts Ruthin for just 101, Jac Evans best with the bat on 28.

Ben Evans (35 no) and Mathew Jones (30) did most to guide the Anglesey men to 102-2 in the 31st over and a 14-1 points split.
