Chirk’s nine-match undefeated run came to an end at Orleton Park on Saturday.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, the North Wales side posted a decent total of 187-9 off their 45 overs.
Jonathan Phillips led the way with 57, Liam Walker adding 25 and skipper Luke Gardner 21 not out, Martin Weill grabbing 3-46 for the hosts.
The Shropshire men got home on 191-4 in just 37.3 overs, openers Freddie Timmis (62) and Vipul Bhaskar (46) doing the main damage before Harry Gaughan added a vital unbeaten 41.
Phillips picked up 2-28 and Nick Flack 2-32 for the visitors, who were without chief all-rounder Andrew Swarbrick and lost by 20 points to four.
In a most unusual occurrence, Chirk’s second team posted an identical score and lost the same number of wickets as their firsts.
And just like their senior side, the seconds ended up losers.
Opting for first knock, Chirk 2nd XI made 187-9 off 40 overs, Stephen Conner best with 36, the same score as the extras column, while Gary Bailey hit 25. Dax Hardman took 4-54 for the visitors.
Hardman also starred with the bat, finishing 99 not out as Beacon shone their way to 188-3 in 29.3 overs, Dale Randall picking up 2-36 for the hosts.
