Llandudno are the latest leaders of the North Wales Women’s Cricket League after celebrating a double victory at the weekend.
Tudno defeated both hosts Carmel and Dolgellau on Sunday to take an 18-point lead at the summit.
A group of 13 Llandudno players travelled to Pen-y-Gelli which allowed new faces to debut and the squad to experiment with positions.
Both Tudno line-ups were a combination of more experienced members and newer players who displayed great strength in depth and a fantastic spirit to get the two wins.
This togetherness was especially evident in the Carmel game, which was won or lost in the last two overs.
Put into bat, Dolgellau scored 94-4 off their 16 overs, Sioned Mair making 19 and Meryl Jones 12.
Ffion Gittins then took 3-8 and Sioned Mair 2-20 as Dol limited the hosts to 78-5.
Sophie Deering claimed 3-17 as Carmel were restricted to 82-6.
Charlotte McKinley, Ameilia Andrew and Erin Deering took a wicket apiece.
Llandudno responded with 96-5 to seal a 19-run triumph.
Emma Hogg led the way with 16, while captain McKinley added 14.
Asked to bat, Dolgellau posted a total of 58-3, captain Bernadette Conneely top-scoring with 8, Clare Freeman, Charlotte McKinley and Erin Deering taking one wicket each.
Laura Lambe and McKinley made 17 apiece and Erin Deering hit 16 in Tudno’s reply of 112-2, earning them a 59-run win.
Sioned Mair was the only Dolgellau wicket claimer.
