Bangor 1876 have been promoted to the third-tier of Welsh football.

The fan-owned club, runners-up in the North Wales Coast League Premier Division West last season, will play in Ardal North West in 2022-23.

It was originally believed that just one promotion place was up for grabs from tier 4 Premier West and that had gone to champions Bodedern Athletic, but now the ambitious 1876 will be joining the Anglesey outfit.

Also rising to the Ardal North West will be CPD Y Rhyl 1879, unbeaten champions of North Wales Coast Premier Division East in 2021-22, as well as Halkyn and Flint Mountain, tier 4 North East Wales Premier runners-up.

THE NEW FAW LEAGUES SET-UP

A surprise elevation is Hawarden Rangers, who finished fourth in the North East Wales Premier.

Llangefni Town drop to the Ardal North West following last season’s relegation from the tier 2 Cymru North.

Mold Alexandra and Porthmadog go up to the Cymru North from the ANW, while relegated from the tier 3 league are St Asaph City, Brymbo and Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs.

In the tier 3 Ardal North East, Llanuwchllyn will become new members, switching over from Ardal North West.

North East also welcomes Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells and Rhayader Town, while Llanrhaeadr YM come down from the Cymru North.

Leaving the North East are promoted Chirk AAA, plus Penparcau, who have withdrawn, as well as relegated Kerry, Carno and Four Crosses.
