Bangor 1876 3 (Clarke 31, Lees OG 38, McGonigle 52)

Bodedern Athletic 0

Bangor 1876 won the first cup competition in their short history with a convincing victory over Bodedern at School Lane, Cemaes Bay.

Tom Clarke broke the deadlock in this Premier Division Cup final on 31 minutes when he headed in a Shaun Lock long throw.

1876 doubled the lead after 38 when a Corrig McGonigle effort went in off Athletic’s Ryan Lees.

Magic McGonigle put the seal on a great win for the Treborth men with a tremendous 30 yard chip over Boded keeper Jordan Taylor on 52 minutes.

North Wales Coast West League Premier Division champions Bodedern had assistant-manager Aron Jones red-carded.

It was a rare blank night for Athletic, who had only failed to score in one of their previous 43 games, also in a cup tussle at Baglan Dragons in the FAW Trophy. They gave it their all on the night, but Bangor 1876 produced the goals when it mattered.
