New manager appointed at Prestatyn Town

There is a new manager in place at Prestatyn Town Football Club.

He is Chris Jones, and he is looking forward to the challenge of leading the Seasiders in the Tier 2 Cymru North League next season.

Jones, former boss of 2020-21 Cheshire League Division One champions AFC Knowsley and Bootle Under-21’s, heads a five-man management team of Graham Seddon and Marc Seddon (assistant-managers), Ryan Turner (first team coach) and Chris Dean (general manager).

The Seddons were part of Jones’ management crew at AFC Knowsley, who were fifth in the Cheshire Football League Premier Division this season.

The new manager told Grassroots North Wales: “Delighted to be given this opportunity. After speaking with all at the club it was a no brainer for me and I can’t wait to get started. It’s a very exciting opportunity.”

Town are looking to the future with fresh optimism after securing their Tier 2 licence for 2022-23 on appeal to the FAW last week.

The club has had a tough 2021-22, narrowly avoiding relegation from a league they won in 2019-20 but were refused promotion back to the Cymru Premier on a technicality.
