Just a week after leaving, CPD Porthmadog’s management team is back!

Eight days after announcing they have left the club, CPD Porthmadog have revealed the management team of Chris Jones and Marc Seddon are back!

The original news on August 15 that Jones and Seddon were on their way came as quite a shock to all at Y Traeth, with Port flying high after an unbeaten start to the season in tier 3 Ardal North West.

It was explained that Jones had taken up a post nearer to his native Merseyside. Trystan Davies came in as caretaker-manager and Port responded with a 5-2 beating of NFA last weekend which put them top of the table.

However, tonight it has emerged Jones and Seddon are back at Y Traeth.

A club statement said: “Due to exceptional circumstances the process of selecting a new manager for the 1st team has been halted.

“Chris Jones left his position as manager because of work commitments. However, there has been a change in his circumstances and the club are pleased to announce that he has been reinstated as first team manager alongside assistant Marc Seddon.

“The club would like to thank everybody who has shown an interest in the position.

“The directors would also like to thank Trystan Davies for his hard work and commitment as interim manager.”

Chris Jones himself said on social media tonight: “I don’t think this is the platform to try and explain the reasons behind the last week, those who need to know have had the full facts all the way through and have been brilliant with us.

“All I do want to say is it’s not lost on us how lucky we are to be back at an amazing club in Porthmadog with a squad of players we love working with and it’s important now we get back to work and build on the good start to the season so far.”
