Two abandoned matches in the Ardal North West League will not be replayed and the results will stand, it has been announced.
On November 27, 2021, Porthmadog were 5-1 up against Saltney Town at Y Traeth when the game was halted after 87 minutes due to an apparent fracas between players and supporters.
After much delay in resolving the situation, the Lock Stock Ardal Northern leagues committee has ruled that the result will stand.
This greatly boosts Porthmadog’s chances of finishing runners-up to secure a promotion play-off place against the Ardal North East second position finishers Caersws.
The winners will rise up to the Tier 2 Cymru North, alongside West champions Mold Alexandra and East title-winners Chirk AAA.
Another result which will remain unaltered is the Llanuwchllyn 1 Mold Alexandra 3 score from April 9.
Around an hour of the match had been played when Llan’s Jack Evans suffered a serious leg injury. The game was subsequently abandoned.
Mold, who clinched the league title with a 5-1 win over Saltney on Tuesday, now have three more points added to their total.
A statement from the Ardal Northern leagues said: “Using league rules the Lock Stock Ardal Northern leagues committee have ruled that the results from the following abandoned fixtures will stand and the games will not be replayed:
Porthmadog v Saltney Town
Llanuwchllyn v Mold Alex
