Holywell Town Reserves 3 Conwy Borough Reserves 1

Leaders Holywell took another step towards the North West title with an impressive home win over Conwy on Saturday.

Scorers were Sam Edwards, Kyle Wilkes and an own goal sealed the victory. Holywell were 2-0 up at half time.

Man of the match was Edwards, a thorn in Conwy’s side all afternoon.

Borough replied with a Marcus Breese penalty, which made it 2-1 with eight minutes left.

Holywell manager Karl Bacon said: “It was definitely a game of two halves. In the first half we were much the better side. Second half the lads showed great resilience to get the job done.

“It’s games like this which show the strength and togetherness in this group which will stand us in good stead for the run in.”

The Wellmen are five points clear at the summit with five to play.

Llanrwst United Reserves 1 Llandudno Under-23’s 4

Harry Croston, Kyle Kelly, Mckenzie Slaven and Bobby Gaze shared the goals as Llandudno took the spoils at Gwydir Park.

Llanrwst did pull level early in the first half through Dafi Evans and it was 1-1 at the interval.

Nantlle Vale Reserves 3 Denbigh Town Reserves 3

Next-to-bottom Town led 3-1 at Maes Dulyn, but 10-man Nantlle fought back to earn a point.

Jack James handed the visitors a 13th minute lead, but Declan Williams levelled on 30.

Ben Allis nudged Denbigh back in front two minutes later and Vale were really up against it after Jamie Owen was red-carded on 40.

James made it 3-1 from the penalty spot to push the hosts deeper into the mire, but fourth-place Nantlle rallied, goals from Stephen Hughes and an 80th minute effort by Hugh Jones putting them back on terms and securing a draw.
