Penparcau 0

Second-place Chirk bounced back from their recent home loss against Caersws to record a convincing 4-0 win over in-form Penparcau at Holyhead Road.

The Colliers suffered an early blow after just 10 minutes when Lewis Clamp went off injured.

Both teams fought a midfield battle and chances were at a premium.

Chirk did look dangerous at set plays and corners and it was a flag kick in the last minute of the half that saw the home side take the lead, defender Matty Williams heading home powerfully from a Nath Lavender delivery.

Substitute Liam Sklenar put AAA’s further ahead on 65 minutes with Dale Davies making it 3-0 after 70.

Another substitute Louie Middlehurst completed the scoring in injury time to wrap things up for Chirk.

A good confidence booster ahead of next weekend’s big derby at third-place Cefn Albion.

Before the game, a minute’s silence was observed by all for local man Carl Williams who sadly passed recently.

Llanfair United 2 (Spencer 6, B Jones 40)
Rhos Aelwyd 1 (Roberts 64)

First-half goals from Matt Spencer and Ben Jones were enough to secure Llanfair the win which keeps them top of the table.

Rhos did not go down without a fight and pulled a goal back through Daniel Roberts just after the hour.
