Get ready for the rematch!
Four weeks ago, these sides played out an absolute classic in the Matty Perez Cup semi-finals.
Bells led 3-0, only for home side Comrades to recover and win 4-3 in extra time.
Now they meet in another semi-final at the Rezzo in Rhyl this weekend.
In a league encounter between the pair on January 23, Comrades won far more emphatically by 7-2.
Bells drew 1-1 at home with Comrades, also in the league, back in October, so the Rhyl side have yet to beat their Conwy opponents this season. What a time it would be to do it now!
Y Clwb have beaten Bow twice in the league this season, 4-1 at Glan Conwy on January 23, and 3-1 in Rhyl last October 3.
However, in the Lee Jones Cup in November, it was Bow who came out on top 3-2 at Cae Ffwt.
So if they can rediscover that form, the Rhyl side can make it a cup double over Y Clwb – but it’s a tall order.
One of the league’s best rivalries this season has been between lively newcomers Millbank and triple quadruple kings the Mally.
Results have been as follows…
October 3, 2021 – league: Millbank 3 Mally 2
November 7, 2021 – NWCFA Sunday Challenge Cup: Mally 3 Millbank 0
January 16, 2022 – Lee Jones Cup: Mally 4 Millbank 2
January 23, 2022 – league: Mally 2 Millbank 2
So it’s…….played 4 Mally won 2 Millbank won 1 and 1 draw.
Millbank have had the better of things in league games – four points out of six – while the Junction boys have won both cup encounters.
This Sunday brings a third cup tussle between the sides – the semis of the Premier Cup.
It is far too close to call….can the Mill make home advantage count as they have been so strong on their own ground this season?
Or will Mally’s rich experience in knockout games see them home yet again?
