Opener Jac Kennedy shone brightest with a match-winning innings for Northop Hall in last Sunday’s Welsh Cup derby at Smithy Lane.

Northop won the toss and batted, posting 164-7 off 40 overs, Sion Morris and Matthew Williams joint top-scoring with 35, the latter finishing not out.

Matthew Jones picked up 3-23 off eight and Harley Pritchard 2-31 for the Liverpool and District Competition Division One leaders.

In reply, Hall looked to be in deep trouble at 63-5, but then Kennedy took centre stage with a fine unbeaten 84 off 94 balls, sharing in a match-sealing and unbroken stand of 103 with Andrew Watkin (37 no) for the sixth wicket.

Hall finished on 166-5 off 34.5 to seal a five-wicket win.

Matthew Mullkarkey took 2-26 and Mohamed Nilam Jayman 2-39 for the North Wales League Premier Division visitors.

Mochdre won by seven wickets

Opener Matty Humphreys hit a decisive 110 not out as Mochdre romped to a seven-wicket triumph at Ty Newydd.

Put into bat, Bangor concocted a good score of 223-4 off 40 overs, Nadeem Rehman making 81 and Francois Mostert 77 not out.

This pair formed a stand of 104 for the second wicket, skipper Rehman striking eight fours and Mostert five boundaries and two maximums. Owen Davies was the sole Mochdre wicket-taker with 2-40.

Humphreys and Will Evans produced an 84 partnership for the first wicket before the latter departed for 36.

Mochdre dipped to 103-3 before Humphreys and Joe Chaplin got together, putting on an undefeated 123 for the fourth wicket.

The visitors reached 226-3 off 37.1, Humphreys recording nine fours and three sixes in his ton, while Chaplin ended on 57 not out from 45 deliveries, six boundaries and a maximum included in his vital effort.
