Ryan Potts was a hat-trick hero on an afternoon where Rhuddlan ended a run of five matches without a win.

After back-to-back away victories it was a case of third time unlucky for visitors Glan Conwy.

It was a good performance from Rhuddlan with two early goals setting the tone.

A fifth-minute cross from Matty Rees into the box found Potts, who had some work to do before finding the back of the net.

Jordan Bellham, making his first start of the year, skinned a few defenders to square the ball for Potts to make it 2-0 after 12 minutes.

The pitch being soft and cutting up a bit made it difficult for both teams, but in the 40th minute a fantastic cross from Rees again was met with a great header from Potts to complete his hat trick before half time.

The second half saw a few changes for Town with Ian Davenport, Josh Parry, Ethan Taylor and Wayne Hughes coming on.

This helped settle the game in the hosts’ favour, but Glan Conwy had a few big moments in the second half with Paul James pulling off two fantastic saves to keep a clean sheet.

Massive credit to Rhuddlan’s new players Tom Owen Wright, Matthew Bennett and Corey Taylor, who had tremendous games, along with Bellham and keeper James, who had not played for a while.
