Tom Dodd’s 83rd minute strike clinched just a second win of the season for Kinmel Bay Reserves.

Bay men’s matches home and away started by paying homage to local goalkeeper Steven Sayburn, who passed away last week.

Players asked referee Glenn Grey to start with a minute’s tribute as a mark of their respect.

Speaking after the match, players and the referee recalled and respected Steven, who has truly left his mark on KBFC.

Just as there have been changes in the management of the first team at Y Morfa, so the reserves are now coached by club vice-chair Paul Denton and player-coach Will Hughes.

Nefyn’s Carwyn Trenholme, assisted by Lionel Thornicroft, put the visitors ahead after five minutes.

It was not until the 50th minute that Bay’s Mason Richards equalised.

Player-coach Hughes came off for Ricki Roberts and later in the half Josh Formston and Rezwan Khan gave way to Declan Bellamy and Cory McHale respectively.

It was Bellamy, assisted by Dodd, who put Bay into the lead 75 minutes into the game.

Nefyn’s Arwel Hughes converted a penalty to make it 2-2 soon after before Dodd grabbed the decider, Bellamy setting him up.
