Penyffordd Lions 0

Nathan Large was Sychdyn’s match-winner

Nathan Large scored the all-important 17th minute goal for Sychdyn that condemned leaders Penyffordd to their first league defeat of the season.

Second-place Sychdyn closed the gap on the Lions to three points, although they have played two games more.

Prior to Saturday, Penyffordd had gone 13 league matches without a loss since the start of the campaign.

Skipper Large gave the home side that early boost and then it was a real battle for the remainder of the game.

Lions pushed hard for the equaliser, but Sychdyn held on. Nathan Bowker was their man of the match.

Brymbo Lodge 4
FC United of Wrexham 3

FCUW looked on course for a second league win of the season when they led 3-1 at half time, but the Steelmen battled back to claim a thrilling victory after the break.

Ethan Snell struck first for Lodge, but Jordan Howell, Daniel Roberts and Callum Parry replied to give the visitors a two-goal advantage at the turnaround.

Brymbo upped their game after the restart, Levi Andrews making it 3-2 before a Snell double completed his hat-trick to seal a famous triumph.

Connah’s Quay Town 1
Railway Rovers 0

Lee Reynolds’ third-minute goal was enough to deliver Town a ninth victory in 11 league outings.
