Prestatyn Town’s much-awaited friendly against Brickfield Rangers tonight (Thursday, January 20) has had to be called off.
Can anyone step in as a replacement? Appreciate it’s short notice, but if you can help contact managers John Barnes or Andrew Ruscoe at @barneyefc79 or @AndrewRuscoe
Prestatyn Town have brought in a raft of new signings ahead of Saturday’s league comeback at Conwy Borough.
And they include an international footballer!
The Cymru North side, currently 12th in the standings, have new management team John “Barney” Barnes and Andrew Ruscoe at the helm.
Despite the lack of league activity in recent weeks, largely due to Covid restrictions, Town have remained busy with a number of friendlies.
Performances have been steady and hopes are high that some decent league results are around the corner.
International player joins Prestatyn Town!
Striker Charley McMillan-Lopez has been capped twice for the British Virgin Islands.
McMillan-Lopez made his senior international debut on 2 June in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Cuba.
Three days later he earned his second cap in the tournament, coming on as a second-half substitute against Curaçao.
As a youth Charley was with Tottentham Hotspur, while his senior career has included stints with Port Vale, Ebbsfleet United and East Thurrock United.
Joins from Brymbo FC. Plenty of experience with Warrington Town, Brickfield Rangers and in the Cymru North with Ruthin Town. Exciting front man.
Defensive engine joins from Liverpool County Premier Division club Brnesc FC, who are known as the Railwaymen. Sean has been impressive in warm-up games for Prestatyn.
What a good signing this could prove to be.
It will be interesting to see how Seb adapts to the Cymru North.
The new man joins the club after completing a successful trial period, where he has proven to be a true character within the Bastion Gardens camp and has suggested he is made for this level.
Has scored a few goals for Lex this season, including four in one game.
Midfield highly rated for his tough tackling and fine passing. With a name sounding like a super-hero or TV secret agent, Brandon joins the club with a wealth of experience from his youth days at Blackpool, Blackburn and Preston North End.
Winger George aims to make a good impression (see what I did there?) at Prestatyn Town.
Also plays for FC United of Wrexham futsal team. High hopes for this youngster.
The Seasiders are excited to sign left back Peters from Connah’s Quay Town of the North East Wales League Championship.
Alex has been extremely solid and consistent in friendly fixtures for Prestatyn.
Steve Lewis – Striker
Callum Roberts – Goalkeeper
Daniel Slawson – Right-back/centre-back/central defensive midfield/centre midfield
Bruno Miguel – Winger/Striker
