More misery for Bangor City as the applications for tiers 2 and 3 next season emerge

Bangor City’s hopes of a brighter future further plummeted today with the news they have not applied for a club licence for the 2022-23 season.

This means the eight-time Welsh Cup winners cannot compete in an FAW National League next term. The tier 1 Cymru Premier (obviously), tier 2 Cymru North and tier 3 Ardal Northern divisions are all off limits.

Currently bottom of the Cymru North and suspended from football for non-payment of wages to players and staff, City could play in tiers 4 or 5 next season, where no license is required.

Bangor City’s name was conspicuous by its absence as the FAW Club Licensing Tier 2 and Tier 3 applicants for the 2022/23 season of men’s football were confirmed today.
