Female festive football focus 2021 – Megan Tyne Wood (Llangefni Town ladies)

Merry Christmas!
Grassroots North Wales never takes a day off, but on a date like December 25 only something – or someone – really awesome can get us pressing publish. ⭐⭐⭐
Enter Megan Wood, who plays for one of North Wales women’s football’s most recent additions – Llangefni Town. She is also a fantastic supporter of our work at GNW.
Full name
Megan Tyne Wood
Date and place of birth
3 August 2000, Oxford
Occupation
Apprentice
Height
5”6
Position
Comfortable to play anywhere in the midfield
Clubs you have played for
Amlwch Town and Llangefni

Greatest football memory so far
Most probably watching my team (Llangefni) win 4-0 against Trearddur Bay this season. The emotions for every goal were through the roof and the feeling was just something else
Describe your best ever goal
Hahah I wish there was a goal to describe but it’s not happened yet
What has been your favourite kit to wear
Llangefni Town ladies home kit
Best manager played under

I don’t really want to grow his head any more but it’s does have to be Dan Gregg. He believed in us and took over as manager when we needed him. Nothing he does for us goes unnoticed, us as a team are thankful for him but not when he thinks he’s funny 24/7. Also have to give a shout out to Lefty Wright who managed me at Amlwch as he put up with me which everyone can argue is hard work haha
Most talented team-mate
Has to be Tasha Jones. Plays impeccable football every time the ball’s at her feet. Can’t fault her, the talent is unreal
Funniest team-mate

Can I say me? If not, then it’s definitely Jen (Cox in the Box)
Hardest opponent faced

Probably Cerys Gadd, fantastic footballer so calm on the ball, but also able to stop and strike a ball into the goal at any given moment
Favourite away ground
Probably Amlwch’s Lon Bach, just because it reminds me of when 17 year old me had her first season in women’s football and it’s just like going back in time when I play there
How do you feel the season is going for Llangefni Town Ladies

As well as we could want it to go, we can’t complain as we are a new team. We give it our all and that’s all we can do. We win some and lose some, that’s just how football goes.
What are your hopes for 2022
Just to carry on playing football and not losing the love for it which I was very close this year to doing. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and realise.
What is the most unusual name among your friends
Wouldn’t say unusual, but my favourite nickname has to be Cox in the Box, just unbeatable haha
Do you have a guilty musical secret?
Probably the fact my favourite genre has to be country music 😂
🎅🎅🎅🎅CHRISTMAS SECTION 🎄🎄🎄🎄
How will you spend Christmas Day?
With family at the grandmother’s house
If you could have any band/musical artist to perform in your house on Christmas Day, who would you choose?

Liam Gallagher. Mum would probably leave the house but I’d be over the moon
Family Christmas dinner – but you can invite three celebrities/ace people…..who would you ask along?
Would probably be Karl Pilkington, Liam Gallagher and Jordan Pickford
Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
I don’t like any hah
How about the Christmas song you dislike the most?
Has to be most of them I think
Do you have any events planned with your team-mates between Christmas and New Year?
No we had our Christmas party not so long ago but nothing planned yet
Do you do Christmas shopping outdoors, or mainly on-line?
I like to do both but mostly online
Are you one for Christmas jumpers or do you ignore them?
I don’t think I’ve ever owned a Christmas jumper and probably won’t ever
What would be your dream Christmas gift?
I’d be happy with no gift just my friends and family well and happy – there’s nothing else I’d want more ❤❤
