No awards curse after magical Mold Alexandra claim a terrific treble

Mold Alexandra chairperson Sarah Cunningham receives the Club of the Month award from Ardal Northern media officer Chris Parry

You know that supposed Manager of the Month curse people always talk about, claiming whoever gets the award usually loses their next game?

Well that was certainly NOT the case for Mold Alexandra this weekend.

After receiving a clean sweep of Ardal Northern League awards for the months of October/November, Alex went out and thrashed title rivals Denbigh Town 4-1 at Alyn Park.

It was the icing on the cake for the new leaders of Ardal North West, who picked up Club of the Month, Player of the Month (Danny Warren) and Manager of the Month (Michael Cunningham).

The awards were presented by league media officer Chris Parry.

Mold are currently undefeated in all competitions since August 24.

In that time, they have won 15 and drawn two out of 17 matches.

They have shown no signs of letting up in December, whipping Saltney 4-0 in the league cup before seeing off Denbigh 4-1 on Saturday to go three points clear at the Ardal North West peak.

As for Warren, he has scored in each of his last nine matches, totting up 19 goals in the process, and is on 29 for the season.
