Although Airbus won the match most of the plaudits go to Denbigh Town for a fine display which resulted in their lowest defeat of the season.
Town had lost their first five games by heavy scores, but today things were much closer as they went down just 3-1 at Airbus.
The home side scored all of their goals in the first half. Denbigh actually won the second half 1-0 as well as going 45 minutes without conceding.
It all hints that the Vale of Clwyd team are starting to settle down and hopefully they can build on this result.
Manager Ellen Lawson, who is assisted by former Rhyl Development manager Aled Davies and young coach Liam Nash, said: “Massive improvements all round…kept their shape and worked really hard.
“We were the better team in the second half….really pleased with them.”
A strong Airbus side will be glad they had the ever-consistent Tegan Hewitt on board today as she scored all their goals in the 19th, 34th and 39th minutes.
Denbigh were much improved after the break and even had the bonus of a consolation goal from 17-year-old Lois Roberts in injury time to celebrate.
Well done Denbigh ! Proud of you not just today, but for the way you have kept going in really difficult times.
