Women’s football: NEWFA Cup – holders Llanfair home to Airbus, Bethel entertain Connah’s Quay

Llanfair landed a cup double last season

Holders Llanfair United have landed a cracking draw at home to Airbus in the last 16 of the NEWFA Women’s Cup.

Today’s second round ties pulled out of the hat also saw last season’s runners-up Bethel secure home advantage against lively North Wales League Division Two newcomers Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Another potential cracker is Mountain Rangers versus Denbigh Town at Rhosgadfan. Division Two Rangers are a much-improved side this season and capable of giving experienced Division One outfit Denbigh a good test.

Also in the round two draw are Kinmel Bay, who have dropped out of the league this season, but appear to have been allowed to enter the cup. They have been given an away tie at Caernarfon Town.

Full round two draw
