Katie Bowe leads early women’s football goalscorers chart for North Wales

Well what a goal-packed start to the season it has been!

Our first Sunday – September 8 – saw 73 goals scored in just eight games!

Then on September 15 we had seven matches involving North Wales sides and 58 goals in total.

The Sunday just gone saw only three fixtures in which North Wales teams featured, but they still produced 25 goals (although 10 of them came from a South Wales opponent).

So that makes it so far…..
18 matches
156 goals (or 139 if we take away the South Wales ones from two of those matches which I am very happy to do)

It’s been great entertainment and plenty of players have made the scoresheet so far.

Yes, it has been tough for some teams, but they will improve as the season goes on.

Top scorer in North Wales is currently Mountain Rangers new signing Katie Bowe, who netted all of her seven in one game.

Ffion Owen and Lexi Crawley of Amlwch Town have both hit six, made up of a pair of hat-tricks apiece, while Becky Lees of Airbus is the only player to have scored in three successive matches so far, which have brought her five goals.

The goals will continue to pile in, so the chart below has not really taken shape yet, but here’s an early look at the standings.
