Clinical was the word of the day as Holywell Town Reserves came up with an emphatic 10-0 home win against Hotspur Reserves.

The Wellmen are now eight points clear at the summit with 13 matches unbeaten.

Nathan Williams and Kyle Wilkes both pocketed hat-tricks, while there were singles for Aidan Bell, Ashley Lloyd, Sam Edwards and Ryan Edge.

Reserves manager Karl Bacon said: “The lads needed a reaction and a performance after the disappointing display last week and they certainly came up with one.

“With six different goal scorers and two lads with hat-tricks, it was good to see numerous lads chipping in with the goals. It was also a huge positive that lads who haven’t been playing regularly lately came into the team today and all did themselves proud and only furthered the headaches of selecting a squad for future games.

“I would just like to finish by thanking Jamie Sharp and Geraint Rowlands, who assisted me for hours before the pitch inspection in ensuring the pitch was up to standard and passed the inspection prior to kick off. Without them the game would not have gone ahead today.”

Reserves coach Geraint Rowlands said: “Awful conditions but it didn’t stop our machine, we were relentless and the finishing was excellent. We killed their spirit in the first half, subs were good, Ryan was superb. Great spirit in the camp.”
