Bangor 1876’s 50th competitive match since their formation fittingly produced a victory.
The fan-owned club made it 45 wins in that half-century of games (one draw, four losses) by knocking local rivals Llanfairfechan out of the Intermediate Cup.
And in keeping with the figure 50, 1876 striker Jamie Petrie became the first to reach that number of goals for the club.
Before the match, a new plaque was unveiled on the stand at Treborth following its naming after Vera Owen.
A devoted and passionate follower of football in Bangor, Vera played a significant role behind the scenes at Treborth on matchdays. She sadly passed away just under a year ago.
There was plenty of action early on in the game and it was the visitors who had the first opportunity.
Llanfairfechan broke forward and Elliot Croston found himself with only 1876 keeper Ben Heald to beat, but shot narrowly wide.
However, the hosts took the lead on 12 minutes when a corner from the right eluded keeper Kyle Jones and allowed Sion Edwards to score from close range.
Edwards turned provider just before the quarter hour when his cross from the left was controlled by Les Davies before he unleashed a powerful shot to make it 2-0.
On 20 minutes, Joe Culshaw curled a free kick into the top right hand corner to add a third goal for 1876.
Just before half time, Edwards broke into the left side of the penalty area and cut the ball back for Petrie, who placed a low shot into the net for his 50th club goal.

Goal number five for the hosts arrived in the 69th minute, Davies with a powerful downward header from an Edwards cross.
It was the Maesgeirchen marksman’s 23rd goal of the campaign, matching the total he managed in his debut season with the club.
Two minutes later, Llanfairfechan got themselves on the scoresheet from the penalty spot via Ryan Dodd after Culshaw was adjudged to have handled following a corner.
A cracking cup tie at Y Morfa saw Anglesey visitors Glantraeth progress on penalties.
It was a big test for Kinmel Bay with reserves manager Alex Craig leading the firsts and a few second team players stepping up with him.
The hosts got off to a good start and were rewarded on 17 minutes. Teenager Tom Wickerson sent a lovely ball from the right across the box for Matty Marsh to shoot.
Keeper Connor Hughes did well to stop the effort but could not keep hold of the ball and Marsh tapped in.
In difficult conditions the hosts continued to play some good football and it was against the run of play when Glantraeth levelled on 33 minutes.
Tudur Williams hit a sweet strike over keeper Luke Wilmot and into the net for 1-1.
Both sides pushed hard to gain advantage and it was turning into a fine contest.
On 65 minutes, veteran midfielder Paul Bryant put Glan ahead when he headed an off target shot into the far corner.
The Anglesey side were now on top and piled on the pressure in search of a third goal. Kinmel’s defence stood firm and with three minutes left managed to break out on the counter.
Ryan Hulse played a lovely ball around the back of the Glan defence for substitute Euan Taylor, who turned one player then evaded a tackle from another, before slotting in the bottom corner.
No further score so it went to penalties. Iwan Williams, Tudur Williams, Gethin Davies and Dion Evans converted for Glantraeth to ensure the islanders won the shoot-out 4-3.
Cernyw fought back from 3-0 down to be just a goal behind, but the Anglesey visitors held on for a hard-earned win.
Gary Bolton, who recently reached 200 goals for Berffro, put his team in front after five minutes.
Ieuan Lloyd rounded off a good run to make it 2-0 on 25 minutes and early in the second half Nathan Moore added a third via a 25-yard cracker.
Rhidian Williams reduced the arrears on 65 minutes from a bullet header and Harry Kirkham netted from a scramble in the closing stages, but it was not quite enough to save the hosts.
This tie was in the bag for Llannefydd by early in the second half, goals from Luke Appleby, Ciran Jones, Jack Davies and Rhys Llwyd having put them four-up.
Gareth Thomas’ Rhyl 1879 side made it 10 straight wins in all competitions with a hard-fought success in Nefyn.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 13 minutes after Kieran Ellis found the bottom left-hand corner with a powerful drive following a Carl Lamb lay off.
Just five minutes later referee Robin Williams controversially pointed to the spot for Nefyn, Ifan Gwilym Jones impressively converting the penalty.
Both teams went into the break with the game all square at 1-1 in a feisty, physical encounter.
Rhyl started the second half on the front foot again and took the lead in the 48th minute when veteran front man Lamb lashed home a first-time effort following some great work by central midfielder Elliot Evans.
Unfortunately the game saw two red cards as Nefyn’s Daniel Roberts and Warren Adam of 1879 clashed leaving referee Williams with very little option but to send both players off.
Two late goals from Pwllheli saw them scrape through to the last 16.
After a blank first half, Steffan Toplis handed the hosts a 65th minute lead, but Gruffudd Jones and Dafydd Jones replied on 70 and 84 respectively to put Llansannan in the driving seat.
However, Pwll would not be denied. Meical Williams made it 2-2 on 88 minutes and Jason Banks delivered the winner deep into added time.
In a game of two halves Sports led 2-0 at the break, but Glan rallied in the second 45 to clinch the victory.
Scott Roberts and Chris Lloyd both struck in the opening 20 minutes for the away side.
After the interval the tables turned, Jody Moore cutting the deficit early on before Dan Prince levelled just before the hour.
Game on now and goals from Jamie Jones and Liam Griffiths settled it for the hosts.
Callum Thomas gave Menai Bridge an early lead, but after that Junction took command.
Harry Parkes-Smith equalised on 10 minutes and Stephen O’Neill made it 2-1 after 29.
Two goals four minutes apart from Jack Williams early in the second half clinched the tie.
A good battle at Cae Nant where the teams held a minute’s applause for little Arthur Labinjo-Hughes before kick-off.
Llandyrnog trailed 2-1 at half time, Paul Williams putting the hosts ahead before a Connor Owen double, one a penalty, edged the Anglesey visitors in front.
Jimmy McNally’s side turned things around well in the second period, Craig Jones netting twice before David Lawson-Cooke sealed it.
Alan Mark Owen (3), Carl Griffiths (2), Jonathan Sadler (2) and Gethin Phillips shared the goals for Llanrug in this emphatic win at Eithin Duon.
Ray Knight was the man in shining armour for Rhuddlan as he bagged a hat-trick in this defeat of Pentraeth.
Ethan Taylor and Ryan Potts were also on the mark for the North Wales Coast East Premier Division outfit.
