Y Clwb overcame the odds to pick up a crucial win at Six Bells in Rhyl today.

After losing their last two games, the Glan Conwy side were looking for a positive result.

It was always going to be a tough ask for the visitors, who travelled with the bare 11 players.

Manager Dan Parry was forced to play himself and gave a fantastic display in the middle of the park.

Y Clwb went 1-0 up early on with captain Nathan Watson volleying home. Watson is a former quadruple-winning player-manager with FC Mally and at 39 is still capable of banging in the goals.

Callum Jones made it two on the half hour and it remained 2-0 up to the break.

In the second half, the Bells upped the pressure, but the away side kept them at bay until Tate Walker pulled one back on 70 minutes with a good finish from just outside the box.

However, Y Clwb saw the game out and under the circumstances consider this their most important win of the season so far.

The league is so unpredictable this season, with fortunes fluctuating from one week to the next.

Take FC Mally v Conwy Comrades as an example.

Seven days earlier Mally breezed past Comrades 7-1 away in the Premier Cup, but today it was a different story in the league.

Joe Carey and Dominic Stringer grabbed the goals at Maes Derw which ensured Conwy go level on points with leaders Millbank. Owen Booth was man of the match for the winners.

Kacper Spirodowicz responded for Andy Colville’s team, but it was not enough.

In a match switched to Rhyl, the Oak maintained their recent great form by going nap against the Wanderers.

Mark Dudley’s third-place side eased to victory with goals from Charlie Thorley (2), Matty Rees (pen), Adam Cassidy and Sam Stopforth.
