North Wales Road Runners claimed a hat-trick of impressive age category wins at the Conwy Parkrun last Saturday despite a depleted team due to other commitments and preparation for a major race the following day.
The club also celebrated two additional event wins at other parkruns.
Despite the shortfall at Conwy, 11 members still competed in dry, but cool and breezy conditions at the event, which included about 50 visitors using the parkrun as a warm-up for the Conwy Half Marathon, with numerous UK clubs again represented.
The parkrun attracted 295 runners, and it was won quite easily by the remarkable Steve Forsyth (Prestatyn), who was also 1st MV40-44 cat winner in 17.22.
James Yarwood was 2nd, and 1st in his SM30-34 cat in 17.53, and Alex Bedingham (York Knavesmire Harriers) finished in 3rd place, and was 1st M35-39.
Richard Eccles was first NWRRC member home and he continued his impressive form to claim 4th place overall and was 1st VM55 in 18.33, with Harry Driscoll 9th and winning his SM20-24 age cat.
And Sean Butler completed a hat-trick of superb cat wins with victory in his VM60-64 cat, finishing 29th overall in 22.25.
Junior runner Joe Culverhouse set an incredibly fast pace from the start and finished just a second behind his senior colleague Sean to claim 2nd place in his JM11-14 cat, and he was 30th overall in 22.26, with Jamie Tharme 32nd and 3rd VM40-44 cat in 22.40.
Meanwhile, Daniel Owens running with his guide Andy Brazier (GOG Triathlon), continued with his fitness quest to finish in 42nd place in a very good time of 23.04 and was 4th in his SM25-29 cat.
Stuart Culverhouse took it steady to finish in 56th place in 24.08, and Elizabeth Driscoll was 85th but claimed 2nd spot in her VW50-54 age cat in 26.07.
Sue Smith was another athlete who continued her excellent form to record another new parkrun PB in 29.14, and she was 3rd in her VW55-59 cat in 132nd place.
In addition, Mia Morris enjoyed a steady recovery run after her previous week’s 5k exploits to finish 157th and 2nd JW15-17 cat in 30.24, with her mum Rachel Morris taking it easy in readiness for her half-marathon race, finishing 227th in 35.24.
