Melvin McGinness struck twice as a strong Hotspur Reserves side deservedly triumphed at the New Stadium.

The home team began well and took a 24th minute lead when first team squad regular McGinness fired in from 20 yards.

Josh Evans doubled the advantage on the half-hour from the penalty spot.

The hosts earned a second penalty two minutes into the second half, but this time Bradley Farrar kept out Evans’ kick.

Sixteen-year-old stopper Farrar also produced a great save from a Jay Gibbs free kick.

On 68 minutes Conwy replied when Sam Earl-Jones rounded keeper Adam Martin to slot home.

But in the 76th minute McGinness settled the issue when he ran through to fire in his fifth club goal of the season.

Conwy had Christian West and Peter Jones both red-carded in the closing minutes.
