One-sided games like this are of no real benefit to anyone

Fflur Williams scored five goals for Bethel

Denbigh Town 1 (P Morris 15)
Bethel 17 (Gibbard 6, 51; Allsup 8, 54; Ffion Williams 9, 15, 18, 50, 77; Fflur Williams 25, 46, 49, 67, 80; Midwinter 72, 86; C Thomas 85)

The result of tonight’s game at Central Park was immaterial as Connah’s Quay Nomads and Llandudno had already qualified from the group for the last 16.

The only people to benefit were the Bethel attackers who boosted their goal scoring stats.

For Denbigh, who courageously played the fixture and kept going till the end, it was another example of how they are not equipped for the Genero Adran North League.

The series of heavy defeats they have suffered this season can only dishearten the team, who have not been able to gather a strong enough group to compete.

No-one is to blame, it is just circumstances, and it would have been of more benefit had Town been able to build themselves up in the North Wales League.

None of the other teams in the Genero Adran North will be enjoying seeing Denbigh struggle either.

Tonight’s final group game, switched to Denbigh after being scheduled for Bethel on Sunday but postponed, saw Ben Bolton’s side lead 6-1 at half time.

The only plus point for Town was Paige Morris’ goal on 15 minutes which made it 4-1.

Ffion Williams and Fflur Williams both scored five goals each, Mari Gibbard, Jenna Allsup and Katie Midwinter added two apiece and new signing Catrin Thomas netted once.
