A thrilling cup tie saw Wrexham take a 3-0 lead before an Airbus side inspired by hat-trick star Tegan Hewitt fought back to win.

It was a day to forget for former Airbus manager Mari Edwards, now head coach for Wrexham.

Amber Lightfoot got the Dragons off to a blazing start when she found the net from a corner after just five minutes.

It was 2-0 in the 13th minute when top-scorer Rosie Hughes slotted calmly into the bottom-left.

Just three minutes later, Lightfoot struck again to make it three.

Even at this early stage it was a long way back for Airbus, but they began the rebuilding job in the 25th minute through a Rosie Lawrence header.

Hewitt’s smart finish cut the deficit to one after 31 minutes and Natalie Harrison equalised on 39.

Eight minutes into the second half Wrexham were smiling again after Lightfoot completed her hat-trick.

Hewitt made it all-square again on 61 minutes and then the on-fire attacker put the Wingmakers ahead for the first time, completing her personal treble on 70.

Things got worse for the visitors when Erin Lovett was red-carded on 74 minutes.

A memorable afternoon for Airbus, who celebrated their first win in Group 1 North.

Pwllheli 2 (Thomas 58 & 84)

Pwllheli fought back from a goal down at half time to make it eight straight wins in all competitions.

The Llŷn side also enjoyed a third win in succession in the Adran Trophy and proudly top Group 1 North.

Llanfair took a 1-0 advantage into half-time thanks to a 37th minute net-finder from Tonicha Lloyd.

But Pwllheli’s regular goal machine Lois Thomas would not be stopped, scoring after 58 and 84 minutes to seal the points.

This tie was called off this morning due to a waterlogged pitch.

It will now be played at Denbigh on Tuesday night.

Connah’s Quay Nomads 4 (Scott 57 & 60; Hughes 62, Hamer 71)
Llandudno 1 (Tradewell 74)

New signing Francesca Scott continued her storming start as a Nomads player by scoring twice in a convincing win over Llandudno.

The Quay hit the summit of Group 2 North after a third win on the bounce.

In appalling conditions, the game was goalless until the 57th minute, when Scott broke the deadlock.

And the ex-TNS player pounced again on the hour to make it two.

Llinos Hughes soon added a third and Tamara Hamer made it four before Stacey Tradewell got one back for Tudno with a diving header.

The battle of Anglesey went Llangefni’s way as Dan Gregg’s side produced a hard-fought victory over fellow league newcomers Trearddur in very testing conditions.

The only game played in the North Wales League saw Llangefni’s Jen Cox, on her full return after a wrist injury, make it 1-0 at half time.

There is no doubt Cefni are a different force with Cox in the side and she made it two on 52 minutes.

Player of the Match Llinos Hughes’ long range effort found the net before Megan Summers-Roberts scored in similar fashion from distance. Both girls celebrated their first goals for the club.

Trearddur battled hard throughout, Gail Paterson-Manning going close with a couple of first half free-kicks, while chances also came in a second-half spell, but the ball just wouldn’t sit right.

Bay’s Hannah Smith suffered a bad injury in the second half and everyone wishes her well.
