Penmaenmawr moved six points clear at the North Wales Coast Reserve Division summit after making it five wins in six matches.

The atmosphere was set for the game against Llangoed and District Reserves as the Phoenix players lined up alongside junior members of the club to show their support for “Show Racism the Red Card Wales” campaign.

Once settled down Pen began to play some eye-catching football.

Llangoed keeper Rhys Owen looked up for the challenge as he pulled off two great saves inside 15 minutes but Pen’s persistence paid off in the 19th minute when Morgan Roberts finished well from the edge of the 18 yard box.

Ryan Stuart doubled the home lead in the 37th minute after some good build up play down the left hand side from Ben Hughes.

Stuart found the net again in the 43rd minute when a long ball was missed by keeper Owen, Stuart made no mistake, nipping in to finish into an empty net.

Half-time: 3-0

In the 55th minute Gavin Simpson scored from seven yards, again after some brilliant build up play.

Credit to Llangoed they worked tirelessly all afternoon and continued to push, but the defence of Darren Hughes, Brandon Evans, Kacper Spirydowicz and Scott Hall dealt with everything they had to offer.

Troy Yates came off the bench and got himself on the scoresheet in the 82nd minute after a good solo run.

Goal of the game came in the 89th minute when young sub Joe Williams, after four months out with a knee ligament injury, tapped in at the back post.
