Two goals from Will Thomas helped ensure Caersws took maximum points at Afoneitha Road.

The visitors grabbed the lead in the 22nd minute through Luke Evans after Penycae failed to deal with a free kick.

Thomas added a second in the 27th minute following an error in the home defence.

An improved performance in the second half saw Penycae create several chances, but the hosts were profligate in front of goal.

And in the 58th minute they paid the price when Thomas completed his double to make it 3-0.

In the 77th minute Tom Edwards capped a fine individual performance with a goal to reduce the deficit, but Penycae were not able to add to that and Caersws deservedly took all three points.

John Gerrard of AE Sewing Machines selected Tom Edwards as Penycae’s Man of the Match.

Ahead of the game both Caersws and Penycae paid their respects to Katherine Williams and Thomas ‘Winnie’ Evans who both sadly passed away recently.

A minute’s silence was held before kick-off and both sets of players, staff and supporters paid their respects.

Further to this, Penycae are deeply saddened to hear the news of Mark Weeks’ passing and extend deepest condolences to all his family and friends.
