Teen sensation Ella Jones gave an awesome insight into her tremendous potential by scoring four times for Llandudno against Bethel in the League Cup on Sunday.

Ella, who was 17 in June, is best known for being Penrhyn Bay’s hat-trick hero in their 2018-19 FAW Under-16 Welsh Cup final 3-2 victory over Villa Dino Christchurch at Aberystwyth.

She has been developing her skills with Llandudno since and showed her true capabilities in netting a quadruple against a very useful Bethel side at Maesdu Park.

Both teams, who began the season with big away wins seven days earlier, were determined to make their mark but Llandudno were fastest out of the blocks, Ella Jones rattling the crossbar in the first minute before Stacey Tradewell had an effort cleared off the goal-line.

Just eight minutes had passed when Tradewell swung over a corner and Ella Jones fired through the keeper’s legs to make it 1-0.

In the 15th minute Ffion Owen made a nice run and sent a precise pass into Ella Jones, who slotted in the second.

Ella Jones completed her hat-trick in the 21st minute, working hard on the floor to win the ball and slide it into the bottom corner.

Bethel have plenty of attacking prowess of their own and they hit back through Katie Midwinter after 26 minutes.

However, Llandudno were back in command when Jasmin Dutton lobbed the keeper in the 33rd minute following some smart passing play.

Ella Jones took advantage of a defensive slip to score her fourth and Tudno’s fifth before the break.

Half-time: 5-1

Early in the second half, Llandudno won a corner from which Maddie Williams slotted home number six.

The final quarter saw some tired legs for the home side, so changes were made to ensure everything stayed steady.

And it certainly did, with no further goals meaning the hosts had pulled off a resounding 6-1 victory.
