North East Wales Football League produces 76 goals across 14 matches

NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE ROUND-UPS

PREMIER DIVISION

FC Queen’s Park defeated Castell Alun Colts 3-1 thanks to goals from Dan McGinnis, Barry Torrence and Tony Jones.

Cefn Mawr Rangers edged a 3-2 verdict at New Brighton Villa, Aron Blackwell, Kurt Issac and Ben Duffy on the mark for the visitors, Jack Heppleston and Jack Neal replying.

Halkyn and Flint Mountain pipped Coedpoeth United 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller.

Peter Martin, Jack Abraham (2) and Phil Lloyd shared the winners’ goals, Dion Lewis, David Hughes and Michael Taylor ensuring Coedy went close.

Alex Palmer, Seb Kidd, Dominic Harding and Owen Williams were all on target in Lex XI’s 4-2 win over Mynydd Isa Spartans, Jordan Walker responding with a pair.

Llangollen Town overcame Hawarden Rangers 3-0, Ruben Thorne with a double and Luke Riley adding the other.

CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

After eight straight wins Penyffordd Lions dropped their first points of the campaign in a 1-1 draw at fellow unbeaten side Connah’s Quay Town.

Joel Buchanan gave the Lions a half time lead before Will Leonard levelled it on 53 minutes.

Chad Humphreys bagged a 90th minute winner as Railway Rovers, the division’s top scorers, made it 50 goals in nine matches with a 1-0 verdict at Caerwys.

Keiye Williams netted four, including two penalties, in Sychdyn’s 6-1 away caning of Bellevue. Brandon Jones and Jordan Ashley also struck for the villagers, Jason Ratcliffe the sole Vue hitman.

Matthew Wareham was a quadruple marksman for FC United of Wrexham, but his team still lost 10-5 at home to Brymbo Lodge.

David Hughes also made the scoresheet for FCUM, but Lodge’s haul was double that of their hosts, Ethan Snell, Harvey Keefe, Kyle McLeod, Morgan Evans (2), Mathew Harrison (2), Morgan Bagnall, Gareth Price-Lovell and Cameron Edwards combining for the visitors’ goal-fest.

RESERVE DIVISION

Lex XI took the spoils 4-0 at Castell Alun Colts.

Joe Roberts, Joshua Hancock, Alexandre Szabo Martins and Kacper Wojciech scored one apiece for the Lawmen.

Ryan Tierney (2), Joshua Edwards and Damon Bradley made sure Hawarden Rangers overcame Queen’s Park 4-3, Liam Lawrence (2) and Daniel Roberts hitting back for the Wrexham side.

Tierney bagged the winner deep into added time.

Hawarden led 2-0, but then fell 3-2 behind before a late double sealed the result.

Cefn Mawr Rangers triumphed 4-2 at Llay Welfare Colts, Kiran Russell, Michael Dugine, Leighton Jones and Ryan Harden splitting the away goals. Lewis Edwards and Will Mullock replied.

Mynydd Isa Spartans beat Llangollen Town 2-1. Corey Bellis and Liam Prydderch both scored in the opening seven minutes for the winners and it was not until the 81st that Olly Evans opened the away account.

Sean Kell (2), Robert Jones, Sam Evans and Jaroslaw Sakowicz earned Ruthin Town Development a 5-1 success over Caerwys, for whom Dion Davies nabbed the only goal.
