NORTH EAST WALES FOOTBALL LEAGUE – REPORTS, AUGUST 28
Close rivals Greenfield and Halkyn & Flint Mountain both retained their places in the top three with convincing victories on Saturday.
Dean Hyland scored a second-half hat-trick for Greenfield in their 6-1 victory at Overton Recreational.
The hosts led 1-0 at half time through Tom Huxley’s 13th minute goal, but the visitors turned the tables completely in the second period, Daniel Calvert, Connor Hughes and Dylan Roberts adding to Hyland’s treble.
Halkyn & Flint Mountain saw off Cefn Mawr Rangers 4-1 at Pant Newydd.
Lucas Cruz, Lee Messham, Phil Lloyd and Paul Williams grabbed a goal apiece, Ben Duffy responding for the visitors.
Two decisive late goals ensured Castell Alun Colts pipped Hawarden Rangers 4-3.
Nathan Davies, Craig Worthington, Benjamin Bailey and Stuart Williams’ 87th minute penalty clinched the spoils for the hosts, Ryan Dunn (2) and Joshua Rimmer ensuring Rangers went close.
Joshua Jones and Sam Giles both grabbed hat-tricks as Railway Rovers ran riot with a 13-0 hammering of AFC Bagillt.
Jordan Valentine and Joao Da Silva added doubles apiece, while Chad Humphreys, Liam Davies and Ryan Loose contributed singles.
Second-place Borras Park Albion beat FC United of Wrexham 5-1, Jordan Davies, Stephen Berry, Lewis Evison, Keneth Davies and Ryan Price scoring one each for the hosts, Callum Parry responding.
Connah’s Quay Town whipped Bellevue 9-0, Ryan Hewitt and Jake Reilly scoring three apiece, Andrew Jones a pair and Jason Wright a single.
Lewis Hitchin notched a first-half hat-trick as Llangollen Town cast aside Cefn Mawr Rangers 6-1.
Matthew Jones, Daniel Smith and Olly Edwards added further goals for the winning side, Luke Price with Cefn’s consolation.
