CPD Gaerwen are on the lookout for a new manager following the recent decision of Justin Gallagher to step down.
The North Wales Coast West Premier Division side has not enjoyed the best of starts to the 2021-22 campaign, losing their opening two league matches 5-0 and 10-0 and exiting the Welsh Cup and FAW Trophy at the first hurdle.
Current Gaerwen player Christy Pritchard is acting as interim manager until the club can make a permanent appointment
Speaking about the departure of Gallagher, a Gaerwen FC statement said: “Justin had been at the club for over 6 years in some capacity or other and worked well with us all.
“There are no hard feelings at all and we are still friends. We would like to wish him all the best in his new ventures.”
On the vacant manager’s position, the club added: “This is an exciting opportunity for someone to become first team manager of CPD Gaerwen FC. At the moment we have interim managers in post but we would like to have a first team manager that is 100% committed to the development of CPD Gaerwen FC first team.
“If you have an interest in this post please get in touch via our club Facebook page initially and we can take it from there.”
Interim boss Pritchard has made two signings this week – midfielder Meurig Evans, 27, and striker Jamie Baker.
Pritchard said: “Absolutely delighted to have Meurig on board; in my eyes he is the whole package. He’s a great leader, experienced and makes the dirty work look effortless.”
Evans commented: “I’m delighted to have signed for Gaerwen. It’s been a difficult start to the season but there’s a great group of lads here, and a good mix of both experienced and young players with the right attitude and mentality to succeed. It’s a very competitive league and I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
On the capture of Baker, Pritchard added: “I’m absolutely over the moon with Jamie signing for us, he is exactly the type of player I wanted while I have stepped up into this role.”
